In 1HM our focus has been on planning. When writing a setting description for the dining room on the Titanic, we first listened to the description of the setting from our class novel ‘Samson’s Titanic Journey.’ Then we extracted key information from the text to help us to draw the dining room as we imagined it. Finally we thought about exciting expanded noun phrases we could use to describe the scene.
The following day we used this plan to write our setting description, making sure to include all the great ideas we had considered in our planning.
